YouTube sensation Jake Paul extended his boxing career with a decisive win over Mike Perry at Tampa's Amalie Arena. Paul, who has been making waves in the boxing world, knocked down Perry—an ex-UFC fighter—three times before securing a stoppage victory in the sixth round.
Originally, the bout was set to feature retired boxing icon Mike Tyson, who has been out of the ring since his last fight against Kevin McBride nearly two decades ago. At 58 years old, Tyson was forced to pull out due to a flare-up of an ulcer, missing the scheduled showdown with Paul.
Despite this setback, Paul is adamant about facing Tyson.
"Mike Tyson, you're next," Paul declared after his victory. "Sign the contract. I'm looking forward to that fight, and I'm already preparing for it. It’s set for November 15. Tyson is back in training and looking more intense than ever. I'm aiming for another knockout and to silence the doubters once again. People called me crazy for taking on these big challenges, but that's what I'm here for—I embrace risks.
"Mike, I respect you, but this is my sport now. You're a legend, alongside Muhammad Ali as one of the most iconic boxers ever. It’s an honor to step into the ring with you, but I'm ready to claim your legacy."
